{"id":1279,"date":"2024-04-29T08:47:13","date_gmt":"2024-04-29T07:47:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dauk.org\/essay-writing-competition-deadline-extended\/"},"modified":"2024-04-29T08:47:13","modified_gmt":"2024-04-29T07:47:13","slug":"essay-writing-competition-deadline-extended","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dauk.org\/essay-writing-competition-deadline-extended\/","title":{"rendered":"Essay writing competition: Deadline extended"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The deadline has been extended for medical students to enter DAUK\u2019s biodiversity essay writing competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Doctors\u2019 Association UK (DAUK) is encouraging medical students to submit an essay with a maximum of 1000 words on the question: Why does biodiversity matter to healthcare and what should we do about it?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The closing date for entries has been extended to 11.59pm on Monday 6 May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The shortlisted finalists will be judged by Chris Packham, the broadcaster, environmental activist and animal welfare campaigner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first prize is \u00a3300, with two \u00a3100 prizes for the two runners-up, and the top three essays will also be considered for publication in the BMJ Leader blog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please ensure essays are in font size 12, are double spaced, are in Harvard or Vancouver style referencing with a maximum of five references.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The competition is free to enter and entrants must be a DAUK member.
