{"id":1365,"date":"2025-04-23T19:32:21","date_gmt":"2025-04-23T18:32:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dauk.org\/dauk-to-host-free-webinars-for-members\/"},"modified":"2025-04-23T19:32:21","modified_gmt":"2025-04-23T18:32:21","slug":"dauk-to-host-free-webinars-for-members","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dauk.org\/dauk-to-host-free-webinars-for-members\/","title":{"rendered":"DAUK to host free webinars for members"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DAUK is hosting two upcoming webinars which are FREE for our members.\r\n\r\nThe first webinar is on managing the emotional aftermath of adverse medical incidents.\r\n\r\nAdverse incidents in medicine can leave doctors with a range of difficult emotions including feeling anxious and guilty.\r\n\r\nThey can impact the way doctors work and contribute to low satisfaction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Free webinar<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The webinar takes place on Tuesday 10 June from 7.30pm to 8.30pm.\r\n\r\nIt will be held by Dr Claire Davies, a GP and accredited coach, who works with doctors on managing stress, preventing burnout, and making their careers enjoyable again.\r\n\r\nDr Davies is the author of the book First Aid for Doctors with Burnout and a contributor to Pulse, Medscape and the BMJ.\r\n\r\nHer talk aims to help doctors understand:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n \t<li>Why they feel the way they do<\/li>\r\n \t<li>What we often get wrong in terms of supporting ourselves and others<\/li>\r\n \t<li>What really helps<\/li>\r\n \t<li>How to offer great and effective support as a colleague.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is free to DAUK members and \u00a36.13 to non-members.\r\n\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.co.uk\/e\/managing-the-emotional-aftermath-of-medical-adverse-incidents-tickets-1318428096929?aff=oddtdtcreator\">Book your place here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Compassion fatigue<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The second webinar is on compassion fatigue.\r\n\r\nCompassion fatigue, often referred to as the \u2018cost of caring\u2019, is a state of emotional and physical exhaustion resulting from prolonged exposure to the suffering of others.\r\n\r\nThe webinar will be hosted by Jayne Ellis, founder and CEO of EF training, who has experienced compassion fatigue herself.\r\n\r\nShe will talk about it and how to mitigate its effects.\r\n\r\nThe webinar will be held on Wednesday 25 June from 7.30pm to 8.30pm.\r\n\r\nIt is free to DAUK members, and costs \u00a35 for non-members.\r\n\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.co.uk\/e\/recognising-and-responding-to-compassion-fatigue-with-jayne-ellis-tickets-1316043303949?aff=oddtdtcreator\">Click here to sign up to the webinar<\/a>.\r\n\r\nDAUK is run by volunteer doctors.
