Doctors\u2019 Association UK (DAUK) has reiterated its opposition to the involvement of US tech giant Palantir in the NHS. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Spokesperson Dr David Nicholl has contributed to an article exploring the firm\u2019s contracts with the UK Government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The article in Middle East Eye<\/a> highlighted the opposition of DAUK, the BMA and others in opposing the company\u2019s contract for the NHS Federated Data Platform. <\/p>\n\n\n\n DAUK expressed \u2018serious concerns\u2019<\/a> at the time the contract was awarded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Now Dr Nicholl has warned that the involvement of Palantir in the NHS was harming public confidence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n He said: \u201cOne of DAUK\u2019s key missions is patient safety, and the involvement of Palantir in the NHS is having an adverse effect on patient trust in how their data is handled.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n Dr Nicholl added that there were also concerns about links between Palantir and the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). <\/p>\n\n\n\n Read the article in Middle East Eye<\/a> in full. <\/p>\n\n\n\n DAUK\u2019s committee members are all volunteers.
