{"id":2763,"date":"2026-04-16T21:02:16","date_gmt":"2026-04-16T20:02:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dauk.org\/?p=2763"},"modified":"2026-04-16T22:21:54","modified_gmt":"2026-04-16T21:21:54","slug":"palantir-contract-theres-been-a-lot-of-overselling","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dauk.org\/palantir-contract-theres-been-a-lot-of-overselling\/","title":{"rendered":"Palantir contract: &#8216;There&#8217;s been a lot of overselling&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DAUK\u2019s Dr David Nicholl has told national radio listeners that the NHS\u2019s controversial contract with Palantir was being driven by \u2018spin rather than evidence\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking to John Pienaar on Times Radio, DAUK committee member Dr Nicholl said longstanding concerns about Palantir\u2019s record remain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr Nicholl, who works in Birmingham, highlighted worries about reported racial bias linked to Palantir\u2019s work in the United States, warning that such issues could disproportionately affect diverse NHS communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also challenged claims Palantir was essential to the UK\u2019s Covid vaccine rollout, saying that Wales delivered vaccines faster without the company\u2019s platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThere has been a lot of overselling,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Referencing a report in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bmj.com\/content\/393\/bmj.s680\">British Medical Journal<\/a>, Dr Nicholl said results of a pilot at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust used pandemic-peak baselines to exaggerate performance gains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/DXNGvozjFLP\/?igsh=YXUwNHE4dnMyeGhx\">Listen to Dr Nicholl\u2019s interview on our Instagram page<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are a non-profit campaigning and lobbying organisation led by frontline doctors, for frontline doctors.
