{"id":3042,"date":"2026-05-07T11:37:52","date_gmt":"2026-05-07T10:37:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dauk.org\/?p=3042"},"modified":"2026-05-11T12:36:52","modified_gmt":"2026-05-11T11:36:52","slug":"arrs-rule-changes-without-extra-funding-increasing-pressure-on-general-practice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dauk.org\/arrs-rule-changes-without-extra-funding-increasing-pressure-on-general-practice\/","title":{"rendered":"ARRS rule changes without extra funding increasing pressure on general practice"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Annual changes to the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS) rules risked worsening financial pressures affecting general practice, DAUK has warned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr Steve Taylor, GP co-lead at the Doctors Association UK (DAUK), was contributing to a report in GP Online that a \u00a355m ARRS funding uplift does not cover rising costs or provide extra funding to hire experienced GPs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said: \u201cThere&#8217;s not enough funding within the funding envelope to employ more GPs without making somebody else redundant.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr Taylor added: \u201cNow the rules have shifted so on paper you have more freedom, but you&#8217;ve already spent the money on staff that were in scope in the previous year.
