Dr <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/djnicholl?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@djnicholl<\/a> said it made him &quot;pig sick&quot; to see people protesting that coronavirus was a hoax <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/aDDZf1Gp3u\">https:\/\/t.co\/aDDZf1Gp3u<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/PS4UbsLQfb\">pic.twitter.com\/PS4UbsLQfb<\/a><\/p>&mdash; BBC Midlands (@bbcmtd) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/bbcmtd\/status\/1346178448117653507?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 4, 2021<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A hospital consultant said people needed to &#8220;grow up&#8221; and take coronavirus seriously after footage was shared on social media showing supposed empty hospitals.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr David Nicholl, who works in the West Midlands, said he was fed up of people &#8220;wandering round empty hospitals&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Police are investigating after videos filmed in hospitals in Birmingham and Redditch were posted on social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;We are only going to get through this if we work together,&#8221; Dr Nicholl said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It follows a similar incident in Colchester, Essex, where&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/uk-england-essex-55531589\">security officers removed Covid-19 &#8220;deniers&#8221; who were taking pictures of empty corridors<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr Nicholl, a spokesman for the Doctors Association UK and a former Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate, said: &#8220;We are extremely busy.
