{"id":82,"date":"2026-01-27T04:50:59","date_gmt":"2026-01-27T04:50:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staging2.mattk65.sg-host.com\/campaigns\/nhs-domestic-abuse-awareness-day\/"},"modified":"2026-02-06T07:32:46","modified_gmt":"2026-02-06T07:32:46","slug":"nhs-domestic-abuse-awareness-day","status":"publish","type":"campaign","link":"https:\/\/dauk.org\/campaigns\/nhs-domestic-abuse-awareness-day\/","title":{"rendered":"NHS Domestic Abuse Awareness Day"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Domestic abuse resources &#8211; ACCESS HERE<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Wednesday 10 December 2025 is the first NHS Domestic Abuse Awareness Day #NHSDAAD<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Founded by Doctors&#8217; Association UK (DAUK) and the Medical Women&#8217;s Federation (MWF), our aim is to shine a light on the high prevalence of domestic abuse among healthcare professionals and urge NHS employers to ensure robust policies are in place so that staff facing abuse have support and safety in their place of work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How can you get involved?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Display our poster inside the doors of staff toilets.<\/strong> It contains information and resources specifically aimed at health care professionals experiencing domestic abuse.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ask staff members to wear a white ribbon on 10 December.<\/strong> A white ribbon is a global symbol of the movement to end men&#8217;s violence against women and girls. MWF is a White Ribbon Supporter Organisation.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Review our resources.<\/strong> As well as information for survivors and employers, we will be sharing podcasts, videos, and blogs from healthcare professional survivors which you can share on your socials to inform staff.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Review your domestic abuse policies.<\/strong> In 2023 NHSE joined the employers initiative on domestic abuse.
